چکیده

Background: Microglial cells are immune that operate within the central nervous system. Abnormally activated microglia cause neuroinflammation, which is linked with neurodegenerative disease. Previous research has revealed Rumex crispus root extract exerts anti-inflammatory effects. However, it not known whether leaf (RLE) effects on murine microglial cells, such as BV-2 cells. This study proposed to investigate impact of RLE inducing inflammation by LPS in Methods: was used induce and then cell survival, changes levels inflammation-related factors pro-inflammatory cytokines, NF-κB MAPKs signaling pathway activity were evaluated presence or absence RLE. Results: treatment resulted a reduction nitric oxide (NO) production triggered without causing cytotoxic In addition, both protein mRNA expression iNOS COX-2, upregulated LPS, significantly decreased Also, effectively reduced transcriptional further suppressed increased inflammatory cytokines stimulation. Additionally, response stimulated via interference MAPK pathways. Conclusions: Taken together, our results confirm effective suppression induced Consequently, we suggest holds promise preventive agent against diseases responses.

Inhibition of Lipopolysaccharide-Induced Neuroinflammatory Events in Bv-2 Microglia by Chestnut Peel Extract

Purpose: To evaluate the protective effects of chestnut (Castenea cranata Siebold & Zucc., Fagaceae) peel extract on stimulated BV-2 microglial cells as well as its anti-oxidant properties. Methods: The ethyl acetate fraction of C.cranata peel (CCP) extract was used in the study to evaluate the anti-neuroinflammatory effects in BV-2 microglial cells. Cell viability was performed by 3-(4, 5dimet...

Benfotiamine Attenuates Inflammatory Response in LPS Stimulated BV-2 Microglia

Microglial cells are resident immune cells of the central nervous system (CNS), recognized as key elements in the regulation of neural homeostasis and the response to injury and repair. As excessive activation of microglia may lead to neurodegeneration, therapeutic strategies targeting its inhibition were shown to improve treatment of most neurodegenerative diseases. Benfotiamine is a synthetic...

Estrogen prevents the lipopolysaccharide-induced inflammatory response in microglia.

After neuronal injury and in several neurodegenerative diseases, activated microglia secrete proinflammatory molecules that can contribute to the progressive neural damage. The recent demonstration of a protective role of estrogen in neurodegenerative disorders in humans and experimental animal models led us to investigate whether this hormone regulates the inflammatory response in the CNS. We ...

Anti-Inflammatory Effects of Progesterone in Lipopolysaccharide-Stimulated BV-2 Microglia

Female sex is associated with improved outcome in experimental brain injury models, such as traumatic brain injury, ischemic stroke, and intracerebral hemorrhage. This implies female gonadal steroids may be neuroprotective. A mechanism for this may involve modulation of post-injury neuroinflammation. As the resident immunomodulatory cells in central nervous system, microglia are activated durin...

Salicornia bigelovii Torr Attenuates Neuro-Inflammatory Responses in Lipopolysaccharide-Induced BV-2 Microglia by Regulation of NF-kappa B Signaling

Purpose: To investigate the anti-oxidant and anti-neuroinflammatory effects of Salicornia bigelovii extract (SBE) in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated BV-2 microglial cells. Methods: Anti-oxidant activity was measured using 1, 1-diphenyl-2-picryl-hydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging assay. Cell viability was evaluated using 3-(4, 5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2, 5diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) ass...
